End of the Year/End of Winter Break
These past three weeks has zoomed by.

I would say I had a pretty successful (*cough*hopefully*cough*) last winter break of my undergraduate career.

- Jeff's Birthday Potluck

- Evely, Ly and I went to Jeff's birthday potluck where we got to see a lot of our old middle school/high school friends. We ate, we talked, we played board games. 'twas very chill.

- Jeff got caked while cutting his cake. He still had a butcher knife in hand. I love how you can catch a glimpse of the cakers' smiles in the picture. Candid ftw!

- Clubbing (for the first time!)
- Evely, Ly and I went clubbing at Parlarle with Evely's sister, Evelyn. It was me and Ly's first time and it actually didn't last very long due to time constraints, but I didn't mind.
- Four words to sum up my experience: creepy guys, rude girls.

- Annual Christmas Lights Viewing with Jessica, Kim and Tung
- It was our third year making our rounds around Elk Grove to look at Christmas lights.
- This year, I kept falling asleep in the car. I don't know what was wrong with me!

- Total Lunar Eclipse
- It was incredibly cold at night, so Cathy and I tried to stay indoors to watch the lunar eclipse, but couldn't spot it through the windows. We ended up bundling up and going outside for pictures. I tried my best to capture what I could.

- Date with Adrian

- Adrian and I met up at Solano mall in Fairfield. The mall is about ~30 minutes away from both Adrian and I (from Davis), so we figured it was a good "middle" ground for us to meet. We spent most of our time shopping in the massive Forever 21 there.
- We ate dinner at Baldo's. Now I can say I have been to the three locations! (Not sure if I should be proud of this actually...)

- Secret Santa with Asian Invasion

- In high school, we dubbed ourselves the Asian Invasion since our group was predominantly... Asian.
Towards the end of my first year at college, I started to drift away from everyone, so I actually haven't seen a good portion of the group for a while even though we go to the same school. When I first received the Secret Santa invitation from Katherine, I figured it would be nice to see everyone again since seeing pictures of the group still together made me miss our high school years. So much has changed however... - The day before, Cathy and I made mint chocolate chip cookies for the potluck. They turned out delicious!

- We had a dessert/snack potluck, exchanged our Secret Santa gifts and played Balderdash.
- I had Andrew for Secret Santa and got him a black guitar strap and a guitar stand. Adeline had me for Secret Santa and she got me a red circle scarf.

- Balderdash seemed complicated at first, but we all got the hang of it after a while. I was in a team of 3 with Brian and Ly. We ended up winning at the end thanks to Brian's creativity. My mind pretty much checked out after the first round.

- Photoroam in SF
- We had 9 people (Car 1: Cathy, David, Ly, Me; Car 2: Andrea, Katherine, Matt, Sam, Shan-Ta) heading out from Elk Grove and we met up with Adrian and his friends Matt and Stephanie in Berkeley. Jason was already in Berkeley since he forgot his camera there.

- We ate at Manpuku. Cathy and I shared a 2 item bento box (pork katsu + salmon teriyaki) and spider roll.

- We went to take pictures around the Golden Gate Bridge. I thought we were going to the typical tourist spot, but we actually went to higher viewpoints that I have never been to before. Despite the rain we encountered, it was pretty cool.

The first tunnel we walked through. Pretty cool effect!
The boyfriend taking pictures around the area after the tunnel.

Hiking up a hill that lead to a different viewpoint. (We found stairs on our way down.
) Jason told us to pass our cameras to him "just in case." Ha! As if!

The "treasure" we found once we got up the hill!

Left to right: Katherine, David, Ly, Cathy and Jason.
Our view of the bridge! Quite far away.

My twin?

We drove back down and got a closer view of the bridge.
- We decided to go to Union Square afterwards. Cathy and I sat in the same car as Adrian. When we got into the city, Matt (the driver), really had to use the restroom, so we went into a random parking garage. We were surrounded by shiny expensive cars, were directed to use the restroom at a McDonald's across the street and had to pay ~$6 for ~20 minutes of parking we were there for. Quite an expensive bathroom trip.

- We met up with the rest of the group at Macy's. It was starting to pour by then and only Cathy and I had an umbrella. After deciding to go to Westfield for food, Adrian, Matt and Stephanie stopped by Walgreens to buy umbrellas.
- We ate at the food court. Cathy and I shared some pasta from Pasta Moto while Adrian got his usual fettuccine chicken alfredo. Adrian found the price of the pasta to be pretty good for the portion given when compared to CPK.
- Adrian, Matt and Stephanie left, so the rest of us headed back for Berkeley for a little bit. We took group pictures before we left.

This is just an animation of David smiling since he was the only one that moved in the set of pictures. It makes me laugh every time!

Funny picture! <3 - We got back home around 1100PM. I pretty much knocked out the entire ride home. (Me and my sleeping in cars... I don't know!)

- Time with Cathy
- I woke up early and took Cathy with me to my dentist appointment. I believe it was my first dentist appointment I have gone to without my mom. Gasp!

- After the dentist appointment, we went to the mall and shopped around. I certainly did a lot of that this break. =X
- Before heading home, we stopped by Costco for food. Since the nearby Costco has an outdoor food court, I think it would be a good idea to stop by Costco after mall trips from now on since the food is so much cheaper than mall food! (Thanks to Vivie for this idea!
) - I knocked out for a good 2 hours when I got home.

- Dinner with ELK
- Ly picked me up and we met up with Evely at SHABU Japanese Fondue for dinner. We sat at the "bar" in front of the tv showing Up. We each paid around $20 to eat hot pot, which I felt was a bit expensive when compared to eating hot pot at home. (I don't know how much my family usually spends, but I just imagine it to be a cheaper.) However, the atmosphere was really nice and it was delicious.

Pretty, right?!

Before the meat came, we were given a dish of veggies and a bowl of rice to go along with our meal.
Looks like Evely is very concentrated on deciding what to eat.

Dessert was included in our meal! I got green tea ice cream.

- Unofficial 3 Years
- Is it silly of me to hold value to this date? I have blogged about the importance of this date for the past two years, so I shall not repeat myself again and again. We didn't go on an anniversary date, but hey! We made it to three years (unofficially).

- Unofficial 3 Years + 1 Day Date with Adrian
- I had a lot planned for today thanks to the plans of other people, but oversleeping and the realization of how expensive IMAX costs changed our day around. It didn't turn out too bad though.

- I woke up early-ish and made strawberry cookies out of strawberry cake mix for Adrian. I didn't leave them in the oven long enough, so the end result were cakes conveniently shaped like cookies.

- Adrian picked me up and we wanted to go eat sushi. However, Adrian came after sushi lunch hours, so we ended up eating at L&L instead.

- We walked over to Borders because I wanted to borrow the internet to check movie showtimes. Coincidentally, Long (heyitzlong) was there as well and he recognized us. First time I have ever gotten an "are you Karen from Xanga?" It was pretty cool!

- My outfit for the day was a top Adrian bought for me when we went shopping last week. Adrian makes me girly. Hardy har har.

- Adrian and I went to watch Tron: Legacy in 3D. (We were supposed to watch with a group, but $16.50 for IMAX tickets just threw me off. =X) Unfortunately, I fell asleep a little in the beginning of the movie, so I will have to rewatch the movie again when it comes out on DVD. (I know. FOR SHAME ON ME!) The movie was pretty cool when I was awake though. (Ha!)
- Sidenote: For a person who falls asleep so much during waking hours, you would think I would want my sleep at night. But noooo... I slept at like 0400AM-0500AM every day this break. Monday (school) is going to be TORTURE! -______-
- We went to Target and Dollar Tree to shop around before meeting up at Thai Chili for David's birthday. Adrian got so much random snackage from Dollar Tree.

- Thai Chili was delicious. Adrian and I shared a dish of pad thai with flat, wide rice noodles and a cup of thai tea. Steve bought an ice cream for David. (He told us he really wanted ice cream cake, so he bought it for David.
)

- After dinner, everyone parted ways. Adrian went to get gas before dropping me off at home.

To be continued. - Jeff's Birthday Potluck

i was trying to explain to my friend from hawaii today what a "ghetto asian" is. he just moved here a couple months ago and doesn't understand this concept. i told him to go to parlare one of these days and he'll understand! :P
btw, i totally didn't know that xanga has an upload maximum. sadness :[
btw, i like how you're one of the few people i know who still blog on xanga. yay!
@eKtong - It is seriously hard to explain what a "ghetto asian" is! You just see them and know them. XD
And what upload maximum? =O
Heheh. Every time I tell someone I still blog on Xanga, they'll just scream "old school!"
Such a long update...hehe...cool though! You have awesome friends and I just realized you're in NorCal. xD
Mint chocolate chip cookiess!!! They must've been amazing. Honestly, there seems so much more to do in CA than here. :(
Wow, you really had a fantastic Demember! ;) Too bad the holidays are over; back to reality. :( Oh well, time to look forward to Chinese New Year! Hahaa, how did you remember all that stuff that you did?! I cannot. D: Hahaa, your sister does look like your twin. :D
@oxyGENE_08 - I got reallyyyy lazy about blogging, hence the long blog. XD
@AzureRecollections - They turned out pretty yum! And I don't know about CA having more stuff to do. I live in a city where people like to complain about how boring it is, but I always thought fun depends on the company you're with. :)
@x3style - Yee! Chinese New Year! :D And I actually didn't remember much from like the week before hence the shorter details in the beginning. I kept note of stuff I was doing for the day in my moleskine planner. (The first picture!)
Very nice recap! Lol! I'm glad you were able to take part in this year's secret santa exchange. :) It was nice seeing everyone during the photo roam too! I think Jason was trying to steal everyone's cameras throughout the whole thing. Hahaha.
@aznpr1ncess - Agreed! Jason was totally after all our cameras. XD
memories...
